These are not fonts
The "different fonts" you see in Instagram bios are not fonts. Instagram renders one typeface and gives you no control over it.
What you are seeing is a set of separate Unicode characters — mathematical alphanumeric symbols, fullwidth forms, circled letters and similar blocks. The text you paste is literally different characters, not the same letters restyled. That is exactly why it survives copy-paste into apps that share no styling at all.
Why do some characters show as empty boxes?
The box (called tofu) means the device has no glyph for that code point. Rarer Unicode blocks are not included in every system font, so a style that looks perfect on your iPhone can be unreadable on an older Android or a desktop browser.
Practical rule: the more unusual the style, the more people see boxes. Test anything important on a device that is not yours before committing it.
An accessibility warning
Screen readers announce these characters by their Unicode names, so a styled name can be read out as a long string of "mathematical bold small a" rather than as a word. Search also treats them as different characters, so a styled name may not match when someone searches your real one.
Keep your actual name in plain text and use styling for decoration only.
